Skill XP raises skill levels, which unlock higher-level actions in skills such as Smithing.

Open Smithing under Non-Combat in the game's sidebar. In Adventure Mode, first unlock the skill with GP.

The Bronze Dagger recipe requires Smithing level 1. Select an unlocked recipe, keep its materials in Bank, then press Create to make it and earn Skill XP.
