Melvor Idle and Melvor Idle 2 share many skill names, but each game keeps its own recipes, values and rules. These are the differences both games' data shows.
Skills
Three skills are new in Melvor Idle 2: Beastcrafting, Hunting and Ranching. Agility, Astrology and Herblore are listed in the demo but locked.
Melvor Idle's Summoning, Township, Archaeology, Cartography, Corruption and Harvesting have no skill in the Melvor Idle 2 demo.
Levels
The two XP tables are identical through level 11: level 2 takes 83 XP and level 10 takes 1,154 XP in each. From level 12, Melvor Idle 2 needs the same XP or 1 to 2 XP less than Melvor Idle, for example 1,583 XP for level 12 against 1,584, and 273,740 XP for level 60 against 273,742. Levels in the demo stop at 60.
The same recipe in each game
A recipe with the same name can have different values and different rules, so compare the recipe pages rather than the names.
| Melvor Idle | Melvor Idle 2 | |
|---|---|---|
| Normal Tree | One cut every 3 s, 10 XP and 1 Normal Logs per cut | 3 Health, one hit every 1 s; each hit deals 1 damage, and the felled tree gives 3 XP and 1 Normal Log |
| Shafts from logs | 15 Arrow Shafts and 5 XP from 1 Normal Logs, more shafts from better logs | 20 Arrow Shaft and 2 XP from 1 Normal Log, in one 2 s step |
In Melvor Idle 2, Woodcutting trees have Health: a Normal Tree takes three hits at the base interval, so both games fell one Normal Tree every 3 s before bonuses, for 10 XP in Melvor Idle and 3 XP in Melvor Idle 2. Fletching crafts in steps: Arrow Shaft has one step, and its ingredients are consumed and its rewards granted when the craft completes.
The Melvor Idle recipe and the Melvor Idle 2 recipe pages hold each game's full values.
Saves
The October 19 demo announcement says demo saves continue into Melvor Idle 2's Early Access. It describes Melvor Idle 2 saves only.
