How Farming works

  • A plant's harvest is fixed when it finishes growing, not when you harvest it.

Growing and harvesting

  1. Planting pays Item cost and Currency cost unless Input Preservation Chance keeps them, and the plant grows for Interval.
  2. When it is grown, its harvest is fixed at Product, with Regrows regrowths left.
  3. A harvest pays that product, doubled with Output Doubling Chance, and XP. With regrowths left the plant regrows for Regrow interval, and the next harvest is fixed when it is ready again.
  4. A plant with bonuses when grown gives no harvest: once grown it provides its bonuses, and while growing it provides them × Percent bonuses while growing when that is above 0.
  5. Watering applies the plot category's watering bonuses. Composting uses one compost item unless Compost Preservation Chance keeps it and applies the compost's bonuses.
  6. Automated planting, harvesting, watering and composting each pay Automation item cost and Automation currency cost; a plant whose free watering requirements are met is watered for nothing.

Game messages

Automation Failed (plot category) - Cannot afford automation.

An automated planting, harvest, watering or composting cannot pay Automation item cost and Automation currency cost. That step does not happen.

Auto Plant Failed (crop) - Cannot afford to Plant.

Auto Plant is on for an empty plot, and the selected crop's requirements are not met or its Item cost and Currency cost cannot be paid.

Failed to Harvest (crop) - Not enough space in Bank.

A grown crop's harvest finds no room in the bank. Nothing is lost: the crop is not harvested and stays ready.

Failed to apply compost - Not enough compost in the Bank.

Composting an empty plot when Compost Preservation Chance does not spare the compost and the bank holds none of it.

Clears this Plot by removing the Planted Product and Compost. This action will not refund any Items.

The tooltip of a plot's Clear button, which shows while the plot can be cleared and has nothing ready to harvest.

This can be regrown before disappearing

Beside a crop's Regrows. Each regrowth gives another harvest after Regrow interval.

Not enough Seeds.

Under an empty plot's selected crop while it cannot be planted: its requirements are not met, or the bank cannot pay its Item cost and Currency cost. The Plant button stays disabled.

Grain mill

Milling

  1. While a recipe is selected, each cycle of Interval removes its Item cost from the mill's own inventory, not from the bank.
  2. The cycle pays Product and XP. The mill does not roll Doubling chance or Preservation chance and does not charge Currency cost.
  3. When the mill inventory cannot pay the next cycle, the mill stops.
  4. Each item in the mill inventory holds at most Max stack quantity.

Game messages

The Mill has stopped producing due to lack of resources.

After a cycle the mill's own storage cannot pay the next Item cost. The mill stops.

The Mill can only operate using Items stored inside it.

Each cycle takes its Item cost from the mill's storage; grain in the bank is not used until you move it in.

Items are deposited to your Bank automatically.

Each cycle's Product goes straight into the bank. A product that finds no room there is lost.

Stop the Mill & Collect before changing product.

The selected product cannot be changed while the mill runs.

Guild points

  1. Each completed task adds its category's base points to its skill's guild; a task that stops being complete takes them back.
  2. A skill's total points are the base points of every task it lists. A rank is reached at ceil(total × the rank's point percent) points.
