Fighting and the death penalty

Fighting and the death penalty

Demo 0.11.2

How it works

Fighting

  1. Selecting an area starts combat. The enemy you chose, or a dungeon's next enemy, spawns and waits Spawn interval before the fight starts.
  2. A killed enemy is replaced on the next tick by the next one, which waits Spawn interval again.
  3. When you die, unless No death penalty is above 0, one equipment slot is drawn among all of them. A stack in it loses trunc(max(0.1 × quantity, 1)); any other item in it is destroyed. An empty slot, or one another item fills, loses nothing.
  4. Death then restores your hitpoints and stops combat.

Game messages

Your defeat came at a cost:item

Your defeat came at a cost:quantity item.

You die and the slot drawn holds a stack. It loses trunc(max(0.1 × quantity, 1)).

Luck was on your side today. Despite your defeat, all your items remain safe.

You die while No death penalty is above 0, or the slot drawn is empty or filled by another slot's item.
